Bosch ADS 325 & ADS 625 Replacement Guide
Bosch has officially ended software updates, vehicle coverage, and technical support for both ADS platforms. Here is a direct, honest comparison of every professional replacement option, matched to your shop’s specific needs.
The ADS Platform Is End-of-Life
Bosch officially ended all software updates, new vehicle coverage additions, and technical support for the ADS 325 and ADS 625 as of December 31, 2025. If your shop is currently running either platform, you are already working with frozen 2025 vehicle coverage.
Vehicles are more complex with every model year. Running a 2026 or newer vehicle on a tool with no further updates is a losing proposition within months, and the gap will widen every quarter.
This page maps every credible replacement option by capability level, shop type, and budget, with honest tradeoffs, not sales spin.
Bosch ADS X (successor platform): Bosch has released the ADS X as their next-generation platform. If you want to stay within the Bosch ecosystem, the ADS X is the official upgrade path. However, most shops are using this transition to evaluate the full market, Autel and Launch both offer comparable or superior capability at lower total cost of ownership.

Which Tool Is Right For Your Shop?
Former ADS 325 User
→ Autel MS906 Pro
Matches the ADS 325’s capability tier at a comparable price point. Full system diagnostics, bi-directional controls, active development. Direct replacement with a meaningful capability upgrade.
Former ADS 625 User
→ Autel Elite II Pro
The Elite II Pro is the upgrade path for shops that relied on the ADS 625’s J2534 programming capability. Broader coding coverage, active support, and a growing ecosystem of add-ons.
Budget Independent Shop
→ Launch X431 V+
If you were on the ADS 325 primarily for code reading and live data, the Launch X431 V+ delivers solid professional coverage at a lower entry price. Good fallback for price-sensitive shops.
ADS Migration FAQ
Can I still use my ADS 325 or ADS 625 after December 31, 2025?
Yes, your tool will continue to function and perform on-tool diagnostics on vehicles it currently covers. What you lose is any new vehicle coverage, software improvements, or security updates going forward. As 2026 and 2027 vehicles enter your shop, coverage gaps will widen.
Is the Autel MS906 Pro a genuine direct replacement for the ADS 325?
For the vast majority of independent shops, yes. The MS906 Pro covers all systems, offers bi-directional controls, and carries active development. The main thing it does not replicate is J2534 reprogramming, so if your shop relied on that capability from the ADS 625, step up to the Elite II Pro instead.
Does Syntrix Supply offer shop accounts for fleet or multi-bay purchases?
Yes. Shop accounts include volume pricing, net 30 payment terms after three qualifying orders, and a dedicated point of contact for procurement queries. Apply at ://syntrixsupply.com or email procurement@syntrixsupply.com.
